Most of what I've written regarding car wraps has been their ability to act as a moving billboard. While this remains as the primary purpose for car wraps, an increasing number of car owners are looking at wraps or partial wraps as a way to express their style.
The Nissan Cube is a vehicle that exudes personality. People buy this car because it's interesting not because it's mainstream. Recognizing this trend, Nissan in the US has begun offering partial wraps available from the manufacturer.
Along with similar anouncements by Ford it underscores that car wraps are going mainstream. OEM efforts are great but if you really want to make your vehicle your own only a custom wrap will do the trick.
